It was a close call between the final Youth Olympic Games host contenders Singapore and Moscow. As suggested by the votes of 53 to 44. The island-nation erupted into a collective delirium although there were skeptics amongst the citizens. There are many factors that worked in Singapore’s favour which will be further discussed.

To begin with, Singapore did not see itself in contention as recently as July 2007. The Prime Minister believed it was not ready to host the Games. Firstly, the National Stadium was only demolished last year to make way for a new complex. The Singapore Sports Hub, where the Stadium is located is expected to be completed only in 2011.

The city-state may not have any prior record in hosting events the magnitude of the Olympics. However, it has hosted a regional biennial sporting meet thrice. Hence, Singapore is very much experienced in the planning and organising the logistics involved. The biennial event is the Southeast Asian Peninsula [SEAP] Games in 1973; and its successor, the Southeast Asian [SEA] Games in 1983 and 1993.

But in true Singaporean fashion, everyone from the various government agencies, the various corporations and the man in the street rallied together. Ensuring the Youth Olympics Games come to these shores.

What worked towards Singapore’s favour? Chiefly amongst which is the emphasis on youth and efficiency. The Bid included integrated sports, youth and cultural educational programmes. Even the official website has “youth” and “vibrancy” stamped all over. As reflected by the music and that cute animated Olympic flame-carrying mascot.

Other factors that come into play:

* Singapore’s reputation for delivering results on time and beyond expectations

* Singapore’s compactness means travelling between sporting venues takes up at most 30 minutes

* Advanced physical infrastructures, namely transport and technological

* Singapore’s multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious background

* The much-vouched safe and secure environment due to harsh legal penalties that are in place

* English is widely spoken and understood as it is Singapore’s business and official language

As such, Games participants, their families/chaperones, the international media and dignitaries may just encounter minimal problems during their stay. In the cosmopolitan city which is recently ranked second, after the United States in terms of Most Competitive Economy. With that said, the tagline “Blazing the Trail” is not only apt for Singapore. But for future Youth Olympic host cities too.

Pakistani Culture is very unique in terms of its social and ethical values. These values are something which are given due importance. This culture revolves around the religion of Islam which teaches equality among every human being that exists on this planet. Pakistan’s culture is very diverse. It has been invaded by many different people belonging to different races. These people include the white Huns, Persian Arabs, Turks, Mongols, and various Eurasian groups. These groups differ in there way of dressing, food, religion. Pakistani culture consists of different cultures starting from the Punjabis and sindhis to the tribal cultures of the easternmost Pakistani provinces. Now these cultures have strongly been influenced by surrounding cultures of India, Central Asia and the Middle East along with other places.

Pakistani society is largely multilingual and multicultural. There are some similarities than differences that can be found as most Pakistanis belong to Aryan heritage. Like sindhis and Punjabis obviously have a language difference. Traditional family values are known every where in this multicultural environment. The rural areas of Pakistan are still dominated by their own tribal customs dating back hundreds of years.

Today due to globalization, Pakistani culture is largely influenced by the western society. Our traditional dress is shalwar kamiz which is mostly turned in to shirt and trousers. This main influence is due to the fact that many Pakistani are living abroad and they come back with this change. Many restaurants from other countries have started business in Pakistan and are making a lot business here. Media has played a wide role in bringing this change. There are many channels of different countries that we can see these days. This is something that is to some extent positive and negative also. Positively the new generation gains knowledge while negatively they are attracted to it and want to bring it in to practice. Indian movies can be seen here in Pakistani cinemas and Pakistani movies can be seen in India. This is positive in terms of Indu Muslim Relations but Indian culture can not be accepted here. Some major differences occur. Like they worship Gods consider them as statue stone. We believe in one God and it’s a belief within our souls. We do not make statues. Like movies our industry is not well known but we still do make movies.

We are doing almost everything done in other parts of the world. Large number of Pakistanis lives in other parts of the world like UK, United States, Canada, Australia as well as the Scandinavian nations. Large number Pakistanis are also living in Middle East. These emigrants and their children influence Pakistan culturally and economically by travelling to Pakistan and returning and investing there. At the same time there is also a reactionary movement in Pakistan which wants to move away from these changes made by the western influence in Pakistan. This group is strongly conflated with Islam and is on a strong mission.

With all of the fraud and deception coming to light during the current foreclosure crisis, it is easy to overlook the massive fraud that has been a staple of the mortgage industry for years. When loans are originated, they are often quickly sold off to large investment banks, which then hire mortgage servicing companies to collect the monthly payments.

But these servicers have been involved in the practice of stealing homes from uninformed, vulnerable property owners through a variety of schemes. They may hold payments made on time for a few extra days, thereby making them late, or place forced property insurance onto an already-insured home, or engage in any number of other activities that set up an easy foreclosure if homeowners fall behind due to a hardship.

This is the type of situation that gives servicing companies a bad name and exposes them to widespread claims of mortgage servicing fraud. Misapplied payments and selling the loan without informing the homeowners of the new creditor are two common activities these companies engage in that pushes homeowners straight into foreclosure and make it more difficult for the owners to find out what is really happening to them.

Homeowners, of course, have rights and can try to protect themselves against such deceitful acts by the lenders, but it is often very difficult for them to win court battles without a class action lawsuit. One reason for this is that the banks pay hefty filing fees to initiate the lawsuit, which pays the salaries of the judges and court employees; and they also hire high-priced attorneys who will lie, misrepresent, violate rules, and otherwise fight as hard for the mortgage company as they can to keep their client happy.

In cases of suspected mortgage fraud, possibly the best action homeowners can take is to learn as much about foreclosure and the legal process as possible. If it is not possible to hire their own attorney, then they need to understand what resources they have in the court system to put an end to the fraudulent foreclosure. This will not guarantee they will be able to stop foreclosure, but they may learn enough about the scam to help themselves or others avoid it in the future.

It is also in their best interests to consult with a company or attorneys who specialize in such cases of mortgage lender misconduct to determine if the bank has violated any state foreclosure laws or rules of procedure. If this is the case, the entire foreclosure may be reversed and the bank will have to start all over again from the beginning, or give up their lawsuit if they can not prove their case or follow the rules.

One of the more devious aspects to situations like these, however, is that the mortgage servicing company will keep making these “clerical errors” like misapplying payments or putting forced insurance onto a property and never inform the owners. But if the owners miss a mortgage payment, then the foreclosure process will start up and proceed very swiftly, while the bank uses its own errors and fraud to pile on the reasons that the homeowners have defaulted on their mortgage.

Because they often engage in such fraud and misconduct, servicing companies in particular seem to feel the need to move forward as quickly as possible with the foreclosure. This has the effect of pushing the owners into a desperate attempt to save the house any way possible, instead of examining critically the errors that the bank is making in the process.

The fact that the homeowners will often miss a payment also leads them to blame themselves for the situation, rather than the mortgage company’s fraud and mistakes. The entire foreclosure lawsuit is often nothing more than a distraction, a legal method of stealing a home that relies on the desperation and ignorance of the owners to fail to recognize the scam.

Obtaining capital in this “tight money market” is easier said than done these days. As more and more banks go belly up, lenders are increasingly making it more difficult to obtain capital. I will show you how it is possible, even in this market, to obtain unsecured business funds without having to show business bank statements, tax returns, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, etc. Although you won’t need any financial documentation, you may need a simple business plan.

Make sure when you are working with a lender that you pay absolutely zero “upfront fees” or “application fees.” Applying for business capital should not have to cost you anything up front. Most lenders should charge their fees from the “back end” (proceeds of the line of credit). Keep in mind that most unsecured “no doc” business loans will come with a higher price tag than one that is secured and is “full doc” (bank statements, business tax returns, etc.). Reason is pretty simple; funding unsecured, no financial business loans poses a higher risk to the lender. As long as the costs are reasonable and only paid when the loan actually funds or is approved, then a no documentation business loan is the way to go!

Additionally, these loans should not come with any kind of pre-payment penalty. You should be free to pay the loan off whenever you want without having to pay any kind of penalty. If a loan has a pre-payment penalty then you should not waste your time applying and find another lender. There are simply too many lending choices out there to get stuck with any kind of pre-payment penalty.

No documentation business loans and lines of credit rely heavily on credit, assets and years of experience. For $100,000 business lines of credit, most lender guidelines call for a minimum 680 credit score (most business lenders use the Experian credit score), 2 years in business and home ownership. Although these loans are indeed unsecured, most lender statistics favor those who own homes and will lend capital more readily if you do own a home. Once you are approved, you will receive a book of checks. You can access funds by using these checks any time for any purpose. Best part is that you only pay interest on the outstanding balance - not the entire loan amount.

You are only required to pay monthly payments of interest and a small amount of principal helping to keep the payment affordable. Some business lines credit only require you to pay only the interest for the first three to five years. This period is known as the “draw” period. During this time you can access your credit line and write out checks. Once this period has passed, the loan usually converts to a 5-year to 7-year term loan, during which principal and interest payments are due.

Since this type of financing is largely credit based, the interest rates are usually very competitive. Rates are usually just a few percentage points over the WSJ Prime rate - anywhere from Prime + 1% - 2.5%, making this an inexpensive way to borrow business capital.

What happens if you have less than 2 years in business and/or don’t own a home? You will find a difficult time obtaining $100,000. Shoot for $15,000 - $50,000. There are many SBA (Small Business Administration) loans available for startups and require little or no assets.

A good insider trick to send several applications at the same time, this way you can be approved with multiple lenders before the loans show up on your credit report. Using this technique virtually assures you of obtaining $100,000 up to $500,000.00.

Creativity goes a long long way. It enables you to make original concepts and brilliant copy for your advertisements, marketing campaigns and so on. It also allows you to come up with refreshing and bold ideas - all ideal for direct mail postcard printing and mailing service.

Creativity comes in many forms. It makes itself apparent in comedic or humorous copy and concepts. Imagination also allows us to use analogy and subtlety in order to drive home certain points and concepts. To be more specific, look at the way we attribute and combine pretty girls and sports cars in order to sell these hot rods.

Sometimes, the lines become blurry when coming up with ideas for your advertisements, campaigns, and even as small as taglines. You have to decide whether being original is worth risking for a copy that is a rash bit insensitive. Sometimes too, you would have too choose between going a “sex sells” ad just so you could have an advertisement to show for instead of nothing?

Choosing the Right Elements for Your Ads

It rarely matters whether you are sending out your advertisements in mail or just posting them out in the street. It doesn’t matter too whether you are choosing to print them in flyers, posters, catalogs and postcards. What matter is what your print ads contain.

Here are some points to consider and ponder if you want a print ad that will appeal to all audiences, no matter the race, age, or religion.

1. Consider your language

If you are looking at a general American audience, then you would have to use words that would not exclude certain groups or individuals. Do not use terms that are loaded with negative connotations that would cause harm or offense to your readers.

2. Make it Child-Friendly

Use images that would concentrate on defining your message, delivering your idea and the value your brand and company possesses. Do not inadvertently sell copy that would be improper for children to see if you are targeting a general audience and not a strictly adult one. Violence and explicit adult material should altogether be avoided.

3. Balance Your Pictures

Even a harmless picture of a group of people can communicate certain things. Unless you are promoting an exclusive male or female gym or membership, remember to balance your pictures by including men and women. And of course, include people of origins and not just of Caucasian descent. In this manner, you are also communicating that you appreciate everyone and that everyone is welcome to your establishment.

4. Euphemism

There are certain businesses and products whose product description carries quite a negative connotation. In order to sound more positive, use euphemism that would ably translate your meaning into more pleasant sounding ones.

5. Avoid Multiple Meanings

Using puns is a form of creative expression. However, do not let it get out of hand by producing too many meanings that may lead to multiple interpretations. Too many meanings may make the message unclear.

So observe these for you ads be it for postcard printing and mailing service campaigns, large format prints, and more. Make it short, sweet and concise and make your message read right.
